For our client - an internal software house creating solutions for the needs of a global company from the insurance industry, we are looking for a Python Backend Developer. Work on site in Warsaw or remotely, subject to work ~ 2 days in the office per month.

Project description:

We are looking for a colleague to our newly created backend team to work on a portfolio of projects for the company Investment Managers. Our goal is to provide our investment teams with the best tools to outsmart our competitors. We want to achieve this goal by building modern applications, which will be actively used to support trading activities for fixed income securities. Our main task is to provide reliable and fast endpoints to be consumed by our colleagues from the frontend team. All our solutions are cloud-based, so you will be interacting with Azure on a daily basis. In addition to your programming duties, you will also support your Team Leader with day to day team management and reporting.

maintenance and new functionalities: 10% maintenance, 10% meetings, 10% creating documentation, 70% new functionalities

90% backend, 10% basic frontend tasks

Technologies:

Must: Python, commercial Cloud experience, Docker, commercial experience in APIs

Nice to have: FastAPI, commercial experience in CI/CD, experience in microservices, Azure

Responsibilities:

• Developing cloud-based solutions in Python and related frameworks/libraries following SOLID practices
• Participating in best practice definition and implementation for coding, DevOps and security
• Searching for new technologies and tools and asses their usability in our projects
• Work across multiple projects, advising, mentoring other developers
• Act as an escalation point for Teams, unblocking technical or project related issues to maintain project progress
• Support the Team Lead with day to day management duties
• Maintain high performing teams by driving continuous improvement of engineering and agile practices and standards
